And so it goes….alkaline girl starts blog, wonderful people follow her blog, she attends holistic nutrition school and is swamped with no time to blog, then comes back to the blog, then signs book deal, and gets swamped again! I promise you’ll be pleased when you see all that I have soooo been busy with to make this book a wonderful tool for you that will totally inspire an alkaline lifestyle for you.
Honestly… I had no foggy idea what I was getting into and I still can’t get over how much work it was, phew!! Right now we are tweaking the proof pages (still such a big job!) and soon it will be off to the marketing team and then this fall, off to the printer. We expect it to launch early Spring 2016, Yay! I can. not. wait. for the day! In the meantime I have a little more time to spend here in between developing other aspects of this alkaline journey. I’ll do my best to be here much more often. But please….if you love what I have to share then check out my Instagram feed where I am able to use small snippits of time to share recipes and inspiration much more often in the form of micro blogging they call it. I’ve included a few iphone screen shots below the recipe for you to check out.
If you are ready for something new to jazz up your healthy breakfast routine this just might be the perfect recipe for you! And it’s super easy too. Just what we all need in the morning, at least on the days you need to head off to work, saving the fancy breakfast business for the weekends. Even if I choose this yummy breakfast bowl for my morning sustenance I still can’t go with out my green juice. If you are any thing like me you crave your greens each morning. In a pinch (especially if I’m traveling) I’ll have a scoop of greens powder mixed in water to get my fix. I highly recommend finding your greens groove and incorporating greens into each meal–even if it’s in liquid form, it still counts! And it works like a charm to keep you alkaline balanced along with a high ratio of alkaline foods each day. Aim for 75% alkaline foods to 25% acidic foods which can include your liquid alkaline greens.
Morning Glory Breakfast Bowl
The list may seem daunting but guess what? If you make a mason jar full of the seedy mix all you have to do is scoop out 5 1/2 tbsp and add the almond milk and spices. And for that matter you could even make up a spice mix and then just grate fresh ginger. And better yet, make it the night before and boom…. you are ahead of the game in the morning. That’s why I call it the big easy! and it’s chalk full of goodness and will keep you satiated for some time. There are various breakfast blends available in the health food store but why not make your own!

Now I just wanted to mention….If you haven’t ever listened to the Food Revolution Summit interviews I have to say it was such an inspiring line up this year. I’ve already listened to them all and I was blown away by the incredible speakers and their passionate journeys that are changing and shaping the future of our food. I just learned that they happen to be having an Encore– a free opportunity to listen again just this weekend. Even if you can just catch a few speakers, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the wisdom that John Robbins and Ocean Robbins have brought together through all their special guests for 2015.
I’m excited for a relaxing sunny weekend and maybe a wee bit of pampering for Mother’s Day (okay I’m actually hoping for a lot, hint hint). If you are a mom, I wish for you to be spoiled rotten too, you deserve it! If nothing else buy or pick yourself a lovely bouquet of flowers to make your day special.
Until next time…here’s a wee bouquet for you:)
Your Alkaline sister
Julie
